Fast Track Road Project
After long debate on this project, a comprehensive consultation has taken place. Now the responsibility of construction management is given to the Nepal Army on 21st Baisakh 2074. This dream project was initially developed by NA in 2069 BS. Now people of Nepal are assured of completion on stipulated time because of Nepal Army reputation and their trust to Nepalese. As we know, NA has always remained committed in completing project even during the hard time.
The Nepali Army also received this mega project as an challenging opportunity to design and built on par with international standard. Nepali Army will deliver their best effort to built the expressway as it an : exemplary state of the art of civil construction" in South Asia. It is believed that this project will be beneficial for huge socio-economic development in Nepal.
Difficulties
- The ministry has not released any money for land acquisition compensation, which cost nearly Rs. 350 million for 138 bigha of land.
- More than 10,000 trees form community forests need to be cut at 29 km section between Lalitpur and Thingan.
About Fast track
- People with vehicles are required to pay certain amount as road toll on Fast Track.
- Total cost is expected about Rs 5.5 billion to 6 billion.
- Nepal Army is targeting this mega project within 3 years.
- Around 150 bridges are needed to built in separate places.
- Nearly about 1.3-km-long tunnel needs to be constructed
Progress
- Till now, nearly 19 kilometer section track is completed among 76 kilometer road from Khokna, Bungmati and Hadudole of Lalitpur to Kulekhani, Dovan, Dedre, Budne and Sirpur of Makawanpur and Nijghadh of Bara.
- Nepal Army set up security camp in Malta, Surya Dovan, Budune and Cheppre of Lalitpur now.
- More than 2,000 Nepali Army are mobilised to build the road.
