Two Major parties CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Merged Finally. 2/3 majority for New government.
Kathmandu, Nepal's ruling Communist Party CPN UML(Communist Party of Nepal United Marxist Leninist) and CPN-Maoist(Communist Party of Nepal) Center are merged on Thursday. The discussion and debate were going on for eight month for unity which comes true today. After the Party Unification Coordination Committee(PUCC) decided to unify these two mejor parties, the formal announcement was made.
Before unified these two parties, CPN-UML was led by present PM of Nepal Khada Prasad Oli(KP Oli) and CPN-Maoist Centre was led by former premier Prachanda. Now unified Communiest Party has 174 seats in the 275 member parliament in the provincial and parliamentary pools. This is sufficient for the political stability to lead the government.
The alliance of these two major parties successed after the meeting at the Baluwatar held by Oli where they promise for the new unified communist parties.
Now, the unified parties name is Nepal Communist Party. The achievement gain by CPN-UMl and CPN-Moist party will transfer to the "Nepal Communist party". Their new election symbol will be "SUN". The New party will lead by Oli and Dahal. There will be nine member secretariat having equal power.
After this alliance, the government is led by nearly two third majority in the parliament guided by the philosophy of Marxist Leninist political line.
New merged party "Nepal Communist Party" will have 441 committee members having 241 from CPN-UML and 200. Similarly, It will have 43 standing committee, with CPN-UML 25 and UML-Maoist Centre 18.
