Deuba elected as party's leader and become main opposition leader




Kathmandu, March 5 Sher Bahadur Deuba has been elected as a party's leader in parliament. He is a former Prime Minister too. He elected on party's leader by leading 23 votes. According to the party, Sher Bahadur Deuba secured 44 votes while challenger Prakash Man Singh secured only 19 votes. So Deuba elected by 23 votes and he also become the main opposition leader in Parliament. There were contest between Deuba, Singh and General Secretary Shashank Koirala for the post of the election. But Koirala did not file his candidacy for the post. Shashank Koirala wanted to be consensus candidate so he did not go for contest candidate. As Deuba has accused for the failing the lead to the party effectively. He just hold the position and did not deliver the opportunity to the new generation and because of him the whole lass during elections. After being elected as party leader, it can be said that Deuba still maintains his grip on the Nepali Congress and members of the once while keeping behind the most powerful Koirala family.
