Hetauda and its name

Small introduction of Hetauda

The name Hetauda has its own history that how it is named. Lets learn the origin of it. It was the name which is linked with the Devil of "Mahabharata".Many century ago, this city was known as Hedamba-nagar because a monster named Hidambasur used to live here. According to the epic Mahabharata, the monster, Hidambasur was very strong, huge and dangerous and he had made a rule over the village that  at least a person should come to him to be sacrificed daily. He was used to eating one person of village dally and the villagers were delivering one of among them and would be victim of Hedamabasur.
Once upon a time when Pandav are travelling there to spent their time of their Banabas, When Bhim saw all of them, he decided to fight with that devil. Bhim was a second son of Kunti and  was also strong with having huge body size with 1000 elephants power.He decided to get a rid village from that devil. So next day he went to the devils cave as a food of him, He fought with Hedambasur. Meanwhile Hedambasur's sister fell a love with Bhim. And she helped the Bhim on that fight. After killing the Hedambasur Bhim got married to Hedambasur's sister Hedamba.
 As a result they gave a birth to a male baby, 'Ghatotkach', who became very strong and powerful soldier and killed many 'Kauravas' in the battle of 'Kurukshetra'. But He was killed by the 'INDRASTHA' Which was thrown by Angaraj Karna. That Indrastha was given by Indra while exchanging from Karna's Kawach and Kundal. He had saved that for Arjun. But due to the Ghatotkach, Karna did not save it more and instate of Arjun, Ghatotkch was died.
As the time passed the people started calling this place Hedamba and finally this name changed to Hetauda, which is now a famous industrial city of Nepal. which is the symbol of beauty and cleanest place of nepal.
